Toyota VIN Decoder - just 1986-87 so far - more coming
(This VIN decoder is probably valid for more years - we'll add more as we can.)
The VIN is shown within the engine compartment (front compartment for MR2), on the dashboard by the driver's side - viewable through the windshield - and on driver’s door (or doorpost) certification plate. It is usually on the registration card, insurance card, and repair orders too. Some codes are universal across manufacturers; others are not.
