How much does the 3.4l engine weigh.  Also, I\'m interested in knowing how much a 3.0l engine weighs.  Thanks

Need more info - which engine are you taking about, which vehicle, which year?

Which one, 3.4L or 3.0L - you listed one size in the title and different one in the body?

Looking for the weight of both and /or I\'ll take one at a time.  I Realized it was a little confusing after I had sent the post.

Well I contacted a boddy that had some of these laying around - he didn\'t have an exact weight on them - but guesstimated they were between 400-550lbs (minus the transmission) depending on the engine and its contruction (aluminum head and aluminum block, or aluminum head and iron block).

There are several 3.0L and 3.4L engines from Toyota (gas and diesel) - from various models and years.  Not sure what you were after - just the short block itself or looking for a swap.  Tried to put information for possible sources as well.

Example:

3.0L engines
6M-GE (Toyota Supra)
7M-GE/GTE (Toyota Supra)
2JZ-GE/GTE (Toyota Supra)
3VZ-FE (1988-1995 Toyota Camry, 4Runner, Pickup, T100, etc.)
1KZ-TE (Diesel)
1KD-FTV (Diesel - New)

3.4L engines
5VZ-FE (1995-2004 Tacomas, Tundras, T100s, 4Runners, etc.)

Thanks.  I have a 93 4Runner with the 3.0.  Was thinking of doing a engine swap, being I have access to a 97 4Runner 3.4.  I know there\'s a lot more to consider, but the engine weights was just out of curiosity.
