TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today the production, sales in Japan and export results of TMC and subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd., for March 2008 and the year from April 1, 2007, to March 31, 2008.

March 2008 Highlights (year-on-year)

Toyota and Daihatsu both posted their first production decrease in three months. An eighth consecutive monthly increase from Hino was not strong enough to compensate and the combined production decreased. Japanese domestic sales of Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino all decreased compared with March, 2007.

Exports of Toyota, Daihatsu and Hino increased compared with March, 2007. This was mainly due to Toyota�s strategy of marketing to developing economies. In addition to increased Japanese exports, these markets accounted for the bulk of Toyota�s increased overseas production.

Year Ending March 2008 Highlights

For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2008, Daihatsu suffered its first production decrease in five years. Toyota and Hino both continued to increase production, reaching record high production levels. Japanese domestic sales have decreased during the same time frame while exports increased, especially to developing economies. Overseas production also increased in these areas.
