I’m in Love with my Car

Winter is the toughest time on your car as a whole. Your car has been subjected to wind, rain, ice, snow and cold. Extra potholes have hammered your car’s chassis. Harsh weather has damaged your wiper blades and other accessories. Cold temperatures have battered your anti-freeze, oil and other fluids. In general, your car has been taking a beating- and it’s not over yet. Winter still has a tight grip for a few more weeks.

So now is the perfect time to show your car some love. The great thing is that your car does not require jewelry, candy or sweet talk. All your car needs is some basic maintenance.

? Have you changed the oil lately? Your car’s oil and filter should be changed every 3,000 miles or 3 months- or follow the guidelines in your owner’s manual.

? How is the tire pressure? Tires should be checked at least monthly- and don’t forget the spare.

? Has your car had a tune-up? Generally, a tune-up should be performed annually, but that will vary by usage, age and make of the vehicle. It’s best to follow the recommendations in the owner’s manual.

? How is the alignment? Again, alignment should be checked annually, especially after the beating that winter driving can give to a car.

? How are the accessories? Inspect windshield wipers (including fluids), headlights, taillights and turn signals to be sure that they are functioning properly.

Regular maintenance will insure that your car runs reliably, safely and efficiently into the spring and beyond. If you show your car love, it is sure to return the favor. Eventually, you could become a member of the 200,000 Mile Club here at www.Toyoland.com

Happy Valentine’s Day.
